Dead Gods Do Not Die
03:28
|
|||
Dead gods do not die. By their nature they rest
in your unconscious. “The unconscious is God,” Jung said.
I think it is all dead gods. Pick one out and breathe on it.
What happens? It comes to life.
Suddenly Zoroaster flies before you stretching out wings from his rock
and hovers in his ancient power with great command and demand.
That mysterious wind from his powerful flapping feathers
turns into Quetzalcoatl and the fires of night ignite.
There is his ancient pyramid presence, the serpent coiled in your heart.
The steps that go up to the sacrifice of dawn and suddenly
the birth of Aphrodite out of the shell out of the water
the ocean lapping at your feet. Oh lover of love caress me,
Avalokitishvara reach out your 1000 arms of compassion
from your put together self. Bring me into the Buddha of your heart
as Jesus walks down the road and tells me how I treat someone suffering
is how I treat him. But the deadest god of all is god’s god,
the father of all. He is broken into thousands of pieces back into the mother of Earth
here in this little nick of the universe. He is dissolved into her as he was in
his ancient history. As the hands of compassion ring out and around:
gods on gods on gods and a sea of goddesses as
the sun Pautiwa looks down in four colors and the twins accompany
Spider Woman to her adorned festivities. Right at home with
my twins and her presence, that old Wind Woman who lives on
the crest of this mountain where I live – quiet now
in the mind, I say goodnight to, layered mind
the imagination of all created things, the muses of the instant
from non-burial grounds deep down under
the Orpheus put together and wandering singing, orphic orchestra,
what a strange chorus to hear as I turn out the light.

What’s really important is that the eye be open to the ear
. and the ear be open to the heart.
. . The heart whatever it is, be open to the breath.
. . . The breath be open to the art of the mind.
. . . . The direction of creativity taking over.
. . . . In that the given direction be given.
. . . Oh heart-intellect, intuition
. . it falls from the sky into your lap and you can get up,
. let it fall to the floor and be swept away,
or recognize, oh mind of the art, this seed,
. unusual object fell from the sky
. . or earth essence made manifest.
. . . Mother sky, father earth, moon goddess why?
. . . . Practice allows me to recognize
. . . when something different approaches.
. . As everyone may, learn to
. appreciate originality.
There is no known marking on this thing in my lap,
. this piece of equipment. Of what use is it.
. . How big is it. What material is it made of?
. . . Where, Creator, did it come from?
. . . . Can I trust it?
. . .. . What shall I do with it.
. . .. I look at it. Oh, I hear something it says.
. .. A heart beating inside. How exciting!
. . This is the most interesting thing that’s ever happened to me.
. My God, it’s breathing.
Such long slow breaths.
. What lights! What markings.
.. Oh it says for me to follow my art.
...My art of mind.
.... The direction of creativity taking over.
..... The giving of it, take up
.... and build on it, you, me. Yes,
... we.
.. Here it is, I hope you find it as curious as I did.
. I just took it and went from there
where it and I followed, fostering.
.This is how I got here.
.. I am truly appreciative.
... Life has a lot of joy when something new
.... arrives on the scene.
..... It happens almost every other day
.... to me.
... Here
.. What do you think?
. Or is it just
fun?

The Academy of American Fidgets has just announced the winner
Of the Imogene Hopkins Stuart Malfeasance III Award
For Carrying a fish with clamped feet over the Brootkins Institute.
Mary Mary Mary Quiet has swallowed a canary
And was first hand-standing over the Institute while
Her feet held a Brooklyn trout. At the other end
The honorary board members of the A of A Fidgets
Nervously docked her only one report for having not been
From Latvia. The University there is seen to be the
Primary Institute for fish-jumping, standing on hands,
And catching diseased trout. But Mary Mary Mary
Quiet did graduate with beaucoups des honors from
The Numbskull Apparatus Part-fixing Academy in
Why Lean? Arkansas, a first, and we hope, a last.

Oh lovely light of the world world of lovely light
enter my spirit and fight with the darkness
it will take some struggle, but what do I know.
You may rinse everything out with light
and renew the spirit. You may just be
and the burning sunset exalt.
Lifting up and exchanging the dark for light
the deep depression pit home destroyed
as Shiva danced it out, as a kachina of the sun
came and went and left the children happy,
the young parents at home with each other,
the fires burning in the sunset relinquishing
to the darkness and stars, at least the stars again.
“I give you the stars, you unhappy wretch.
I give you the light that was and will be again
and again and again and again, I give you the stars.”
